Famable Centre is a community school in Selengwe village, 10km north of Lusaka, in Chibombo District. The school was setup by Mr. Sunday Lombe Sikaonga in his own home to teach poor children and orphans in his community. During a 2017 visit to the school, the NPAC team found the learners sitting on the floor with no water and very poor sanitation facilities, and no books or proper kitchen. Some lessons were being taught in a make-shift structure outside as the space inside was too small.
NPAC raised funds in the UK and sponsored the sinking of a borehole and water tank to provide clean water and built an ablution block with plumbing to improve the sanitation for the young learners.
